A timber garage looks at home in a garden rather than an industrial shed. Solid spruce walls insulate better than sheet steel, so the space stays cooler in summer and quieter in heavy rain. You can fix shelving, racking and hooks anywhere on the wall. Minor damage can usually be sanded, filled or a single board replaced. Timber takes a stain or paint well, so you can match it to the house. Each building lists its own details on its page.

A well built and well maintained timber garage lasts for decades. The timber is slow grown European spruce from FSC certified suppliers, kiln dried and machined. The boards sit tightly together and shed water. Lifespan then comes down to three things you control. A dry, level base that keeps the timber up off the ground. A good coating on every face, including the cut ends and the underside of the lowest boards. And refreshing the coating in accordance with the manufacturer's recommended schedule.

Beyond that, keep the gutters clear, keep soil, mulch and garden beds back from the boards, and check the door hardware still moves freely. Timber moves a little with the seasons, which is normal. It depends on where you live. Approval is set by your state and your local council. It turns on floor area, height, siting and setbacks, and on overlays such as bushfire, heritage, flooding and easements. Many small structures are exempt, but the thresholds differ from one council to the next. Nothing here is legal advice.

Most customers put the kit up themselves, or bring in a handyperson or builder. It arrives as a flat-pack of pre-cut, numbered parts with the fixings and an illustrated guide. The wall boards interlock as you stack them, so no specialist trade skills are needed. Plan on at least two people, a base that is finished and ready before delivery, and multiple days of work. Any electrical work has to be done by a licensed electrician.

Your garage arrives flat-packed on pallets by freight truck. We offer free freight to metro depots in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney. Request a freight quote if you live outside our free delivery zones.

From the depot you can pick up for free, or arrange delivery to your property with the depot. Items held in stock are dispatched within one to four business days. Made to order buildings take roughly eight to fourteen weeks. They're manufactured in Europe and shipped once your order is placed. Yes. Timber is covered for 5 years. Electrical parts and fit-out items are covered for 1 year. Our warranty conditions set out the detail. Your rights under Australian Consumer Law apply on top and can't be excluded.

The range runs from a single bay that takes one car and a bit of storage, up to wider buildings. Those take two vehicles, or one vehicle and a workshop corner. Some layouts pair an enclosed garage with a covered bay alongside, which suits a boat, a trailer, a caravan or an outdoor work area. Every building lists its own dimensions on its page, and you can filter this collection by size band.

That varies by model. Some garages come with timber doors as part of the kit. Others are built to take a door you source and fit separately, such as a tilt, panel lift or roller door. The product page for each building lists exactly what is included, so check there before you order. A concrete slab, finished and cured before the kit arrives. It needs to be level, well drained, flat and square, and engineered to carry vehicle loads across the whole footprint. Set it out to the footprint published on that model's page, because it differs from building to building. Grade the ground around it so surface water drains away from the walls and the door opening. Leave clear standing room on all sides for assembly. If you are unsure what the slab needs to be, have a concreter or foundation specialist spec it.

Both are site specific, so plan for them early rather than after the slab is poured. Keep the timber up off the ground on a slab or piers. Keep clearance and inspection access right around the building, and keep mulch and garden beds away from the walls. If your address sits in a designated bushfire prone area, your council may require a BAL assessment. That can affect what you are allowed to build and where. Termite management is a local matter, so follow the advice of a licensed pest inspector for your area.
