Caring for your sauna barrel
A sauna barrel asks very little, but a little care goes a long way.
Leave the door ajar after each session so the interior dries fully. Wipe the benches down occasionally with warm water — no harsh chemicals. Outside, an annual coat of timber oil protects against the weather. Check the steel bands once a season and nip them up if they have loosened. Do that, and your barrel will still look and smell wonderful a decade from now.
